The Select Board has called for a Special Town meeting to be held November 3, 2020. There are two more public hearings to answer questions about the upcoming special town meeting ballot questions:
An explanation of the questions was mailed out to all registered voters. If you did not get one, please contact the Select Board office.
If you have not yet registered to vote, there is still time. You can come to the Town Office; we can send you a registration card in the mail, or you can go online and follow the link on the www.maine.gov/sos/cec website. On the right hand side, under “Featured Topics” click on “Voter Registration”. There you will find all sorts of information about voting, including a link to a registration application that you can download. Please don’t hesitate to call or email with any questions: MontvilleRegistrar@gmail.com, or call 342-5543.
From the Town Clerk (Jodie Martin):
Absentee ballots were sent out to those who had requested them, on Thursday and Friday of last week! Please let me know if you have not received them by the end of this week. You can still request your absentee ballot if you haven’t done so already, but would like to! Just give the office a call; 342-5544. I also wanted to let you know that there were two ballots that were sent out, which were a special Ballot for the Town of Montville, and the State Ballot. I have attached the explanations for these articles, as that could not be mailed in the same envelope as the ballots. If you have any questions regarding the articles on the Montville Ballot, please feel free to reach out to the Select Board, or Katie Campbell their Administrative Assistant. If you have questions or concerns about your absentee ballot(s), please feel free to ask me, I will do my best to answer them. Please also take time to read the instructions provided on how to fill out the absentee ballot, and your options for returning the ballots once completed.
The town office is now conducting business inside the lobby, but again, please note that face coverings are REQUIRED. This is in accordance with the latest orders from the Governor's office, which mandates that all municipal offices require face coverings for customers and employees. If you do not wish to wear a face covering, you may conduct business through the window on the porch. If you need a face mask, please ask; we have disposable masks available for anyone who needs one. Thank you for your help in keeping everyone safe and healthy.
The Planning Board meeting scheduled for October 14th is cancelled due to lack of an agenda. Our next meeting, scheduled for November 11th, will be postponed until November 18th in honor of Veterans Day.
