A notice from the Tax Collector:

​If you have already paid your 2019 taxes, you can skip this message. Outstanding 2019 property taxes, will go to lien on May 22, 2020 if not paid in full. Lien notices will be sent out the second week of April. Please keep in mind, that once the notices go out, the associated administrative fees and certified mailing costs are added to your account. Please call the office if you are unsure if you have any outstanding balances.

The Town is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support the three-member Select Board in managing the affairs of the town. Pay is $18 per hour and will encompass 16 - 18 including Monday night Board meetings. Working under the direction of the Board of Selectpersons/Assessors, the Administrative Assistant performs highly responsible administrative functions requiring the exercise of mature judgment and application of a broad knowledge of municipal operations. The position requires autonomous and sometimes confidential work. The deadline for submission of a cover letter, resume and contact information for 3 references is April 6, 2020. General Town Reminders: 

Town Office will be closed if there is no school, due to weather; or if the County/State Offices are closed due to weather or Holidays. 

Recreational Vehicles: Boat Registrations Expire December 31 EACH YEAR, registration required if boat has motor; all fresh water boat registrations are required to also have the Lake and River Protection Stickers. ATV Registrations Expire June 30 EACH YEAR; Registration is not required for an ATV operated on land on which the owner lives or on land on which the owner is domiciled, as long as the ATV is not operated elsewhere within the jurisdiction of the State. Snowmobile Registrations Expire June 30 EACH YEAR; Registration is not required for a snowmobile operated over the snow on land on which the owner lives or on land on which the owner is domiciled, provided the snowmobile is not operated elsewhere within the jurisdiction of this State. 

Dogs: Dog Registrations are due on or before January 1 of each year. 

• If between January 1 and October 15, the dog reaches the age of 6 months or a person becomes the owner or keeper of a dog 6 months of age or older, the owner or keeper must obtain a license within 10 days of this event. To obtain a license, the owner or keeper must file with the clerk proof that the dog is immunized against rabies (except for wolf hybrids). 

• The license fees are $11 for each Unaltered dog or $6 for each Spayed/Neutered. Police dogs and trained guide, hearing, service and search and rescue dogs must be licensed, but are exempt from the payment of fees. 

• “Late Dogs.” Where an owner or keeper required to license a dog by January 1st fails to apply for a license until after January 31st, that person must also pay a $25 late fee for each dog so licensed. 

Vital Statistics: Certified Copies of Birth, Death or Marriage Certificates are: $15 for first copy, $5 for additional copies, $3 for a non-certified photocopy. State now requires a form be filled out, and positive ID required, prior to issuance. Application for a Marriage License: $40, this DOES NOT include the cost of a copy of the license; applications are good for 90 days from filing date.
